Band Ensemble Program

Students in our band program are matched up with students of similar age and ability, to experience how music is created in a group environment. Each band is guided by several instructors as they choose songs and rehearse material, all while learning to listen and work cooperatively. The semester-long program culminates with a performance by all the bands at a local venue. This is one of the highlights of the semester! Adult students are also welcome to participate in our adult band program.  

The program is offered in the fall and spring, and runs for the entire length of each semester. In the summer, we have two intensive band camps. These include a full week of band rehearsals, in preparation for a final performance.

Acceptance to Band Ensemble Program is based on teacher recommendation. Please let us know if you and/or your child would like to be considered.

Jazz Improvization Program

This class is geared towards advanced beginners, intermediate and advanced students currently enrolled at the studio.  Our focus is on jazz theory and improvisational techniques, and our small class size provides an ideal forum for students to experiment with improvising as part of a group. The syllabus includes listening/transcription assignments, studying and soloing over the various blues forms, and introduces fundamental jazz theory concepts.

Acceptance into this class is by teacher recommendation only. Please let us know if you and/or your child would like to be considered.
